Essentials is the entry plan for teams getting started with test management (up to 5 users, Cloud only). Professional adds advanced reporting, deeper customization, role-based access and on-premise deployment for teams that need more depth. Enterprise adds enterprise-grade security and governance — SSO, MFA, audit logs, test-case versioning & approvals, cross-project reporting and priority support. Every plan includes TestRail’s full AI capabilities.

Pricing is per user. With annual billing, Essentials costs $22 per user/month, Professional costs $38, and Enterprise costs $78. Monthly billing is available for Essentials and Professional. Use the pricing controls above to calculate your total.

Annual subscriptions are paid upfront for the year at a lower monthly equivalent rate. Essentials and Professional offer monthly or annual billing. Enterprise is billed annually.

Essentials supports up to 5 users. Professional and Enterprise have no user cap — add as many seats as your team needs. For very large deployments (500+ users), get in touch with sales.

AI features

Every plan includes AI test case generation, BDD scenario generation, test script generation, test prioritization, and MCP Server. Admins can also disable AI features for compliance.

TestRail admins enable AI in the AI Hub (under Settings) after agreeing to the AI Terms of Use. Access can then be managed by user role and by project, so admins decide exactly who can use AI and where.

Yes — on every plan. Admins can switch AI off entirely, or limit it to specific roles and projects to meet internal or regulatory requirements.

AI trust & data handling

No. All data is processed in real time and nothing is retained after the response is generated — so there is nothing to store or delete.

No. Your data is never used to train LLMs. The AI service only processes the input you provide and does not learn from past interactions.

All data is fully encrypted in transit while it is processed by the AI service. TestRail is also SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certified, and you control exactly what is shared on each request.
